We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Site Manager to ensure that the school site & buildings, learning environment and other facilities are maintained and operate to the highest possible standard of provision and effectively manage premises staff.

Vision and Purpose

Working with the support of Trust's Head of Estates and the schools' Senior Leadership Team, the Site Manager holds primary responsibility for the operational management, safety, and continuous improvement of the school estate. The purpose of this role is to ensure that all school buildings, grounds, and facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards, providing a safe, compliant, and inspiring environment for students, staff, and the wider community by:

  • Championing Excellence: Ensure the learning environment and school infrastructure operate at peak performance, reflecting the high standards of the institution.
  • Leading with Impact: Directly manage and develop the premises team, fostering a culture of pride, efficiency, and proactive service delivery.
  • Thinking Strategically: Collaborate with School Leadership and the Multi‑Academy Trust (MAT) on strategic facilities planning, capital investment projects, and long‑term asset management.
  • Ensuring Absolute Compliance: Act as the school's custodian for health, safety, and statutory compliance, ensuring the site meets all legal obligations and safeguarding requirements.

Have good written and oral communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels of school staff, students and the wider community. Be able to build and maintain effective working relationships. Be friendly, enthusiastic and a good team player. Have knowledge and understanding of health and safety procedures. Have a good standard of DIY skills to undertake general maintenance and repairs. Be reliable, a good problem solver and able to work on their own initiative.

Essex 2025 Scale 7, Point 19 - 24 (£33,120 - £36,581) Full time, permanent, 8.00-4.00 pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch each day) (early finish 1 day per week to be agreed with Line Manager)
