We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mobile Lead Engineer to join our growing field-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of mechanical works, primarily focused on Air Handling Units (AHUs) and associated ventilation systems including installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of mechanical systems at customer sites. This is a field-based role requiring a strong mechanical background, a proactive approach, and excellent customer service skills. You will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of our customers’ ventilation systems are installed, maintained, and operating to the highest standards. This includes both hands-on engineering work and managing projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend client sites to carry out servicing of Air Handling Units, including the mechanical maintenance, servicing, repairs, and installation of fans, heating & cooling coils, motors, pumps, belts, filters, filter frames and air filtration systems within the AHU’s structures.
  • Diagnose faults on mechanical plant and equipment and problem solve on site.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and occasionally reactive works.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely to a high standard and in compliance with company and site procedures.
  • Manage projects from initial site attendance through to completion.
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal administrators’ team, and sales teams.

About You

  • Proven experience working as a Mechanical Engineer (field-based preferred) or ventilation engineering or AHUs or similar ventilation equipment.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
  • Experience with fans, motors, belts, pumps, or similar mechanical systems.
  • Professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Able to work independently, manage workload effectively, and use own initiative.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Experience working within commercial or industrial environments.
  • Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. IPAF, PASMA, CSCS).
  • Basic electrical knowledge.

Coverage Area

You will be responsible for servicing a large, established base of repeat customers across London and the North & South Home Counties.
