Are you an organised and motivated individual looking for an exciting administrative role within the field of safeguarding? West Berkshire Council is seeking an Administrator to provide essential support to the Service Manager - Safeguarding Adults and contribute to the effective operation of the Safeguarding Adults Team.

About The Role

As the Administrator - Safeguarding Adults and working closely with the Service Manager and Safeguarding Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to the Safeguarding Team
  • Handling incoming enquiries and correspondence, ensuring timely responses
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases including updating client records and liaising with duty teams within the wider Adult Social Care function
  • Coordinating meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute-taking
  • Assisting with the compilation of reports and documentation
  • Managing and prioritising administrative tasks to ensure smooth workflow

You will be an integral part of the wider Safeguarding Adults Team, working alongside professionals dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information

While experience within a safeguarding or social care environment would be advantageous, it is not essential. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to changing priorities are key attributes we are seeking.

This role is fixed term until 31/03/2027 – Backfill for secondment.
