Finance Officer in Caldicot

We’re looking for an organised and detail-focused Finance Officer to join the Westbase Finance team. You’ll support day-to-day finance operations across our multi-entity group, spanning the UK, Europe and international markets, working across purchase and sales ledger, credit control, reconciliations, and month-end close. This is a foundational role in a growing finance function with a clear progression path into a Junior Finance Business Partner position for the right person.

What you'll do

• Support the wider Finance team through accurate and timely completion of daily finance activities
• Manage purchase and sales ledger activities, including credit control across the group’s trading entities
• Process vendor bills through both automated (invoice scanning) and manual routes, and support the weekly payment run
• Prepare and post journals in NetSuite
• Perform bank and ledger reconciliations across the group’s trading entities and multiple currencies
• Support quarterly VAT return preparation across UK and European entities
• Assist with month-end close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Use NetSuite and Xero day-to-day; contribute to the Finance team’s use of dashboards, prepayment reviews and credit-checking tools
• Contribute to process improvement and engagement with new tools as they’re introduced
• Support the CFO and Financial Controller with ad hoc reporting as needed

What we're looking for

• 2+ years’ experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer, or similar role
• AAT qualified or actively studying
• Highly proficient in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, filters, comfortable with large data)
• Experience with cloud accounting systems (NetSuite, Xero) preferred; equivalent experience elsewhere considered
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communicator with internal customers across departments
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload
• Proactive, keen to learn, and interested in building broader finance skills
