Do you live in or around Exminster and looking for a fulfilling role close to home? Whether you are returning to work or looking for a part-time job that fits comfortably around school runs, this is your chance to step into a rewarding role just around the corner.
Westbank is a long-standing, award-winning charity at the heart of Devon. From our Healthy Living Centre in Exminster, we deliver an exciting mix of services designed to promote health, wellbeing, and independence. One of our most cherished spaces is Coffee On The Corner – our vibrant community café that brings people together over great food, friendly service, and a warm atmosphere.
We're looking for a Café Supervisor to lead our team of dedicated volunteers and oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the café. This is more than just a catering role - it's a chance to contribute to the life of the village, support your neighbours, and be part of something meaningful.
Your day will include:
- Running the café with a focus on excellent service and community spirit.
- Creating simple, wholesome menu options that reflect local needs.
- Supporting and inspiring a team of volunteers.
- Helping the café grow through community events and initiatives.
- Managing stock and ensuring food safety standards are met.
Full details can be found in the Job Description.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a supervisory catering role.
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (desirable)
- Confidence with basic IT and POS systems.
- A positive, community-minded attitude.
- Ideally, some experience working with volunteers or in a charity setting.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building connections, values flexibility, and is available during daytime hours on weekdays.
What we offer:
- A meaningful and rewarding role where you truly make a difference
- A friendly, inclusive and supportive team culture
- Access to our on-site facilities – including our gym and community cookery school
- Free parking at our Healthy Living Centre, Farm House Rise, Exminster
- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – 24/7 confidential support for mental, emotional, and financial wellbeing
- Employee discount scheme - savings on everyday shopping, dining and more
- Buy additional annual leave - flexible options to suit your lifestyle
- Wellbeing days - extra time off to rest, recharge and focus on your health
- Join a charity that puts people first - both in the community and within the team.
Westbank is an inclusive employer, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.
We are committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to uphold this commitment. This role requires an Enhanced DBS check. It is a criminal offence for individuals barred from regulated activity to apply.
