West Yorkshire Police is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Leadership and Management Development Trainer to join the Leadership and Organisational Development team. This role is central to designing and delivering impactful development programmes that enhance leadership capability across all ranks and grades within the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, design, deliver, and evaluate leadership and management development interventions aligned to organisational strategies and learning needs.
  • Consult with senior stakeholders and conduct learning needs analyses to recommend tailored development solutions.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities for individuals and teams, including occasional delivery to external partners and organisations where required.
  • Contribute to the validation and continuous improvement of learning interventions to ensure they meet organisational objectives and learner needs.
  • Monitor learner performance, provide feedback, and complete assessment reports.
  • Represent the department at local, regional, and national levels, promoting the benefits of leadership development programmes.
  • Deliver train‑the‑trainer programmes to ensure consistency and quality across learning delivery.
  • Act as a consultant for recognised qualification bodies, supporting learners through coaching, assessment, and marking.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience across the full cycle of leadership and management development, with strong knowledge of relevant theories and practices.
  • CIPD Level 3 Learning and Development qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team.
  • Commitment to continuous personal development in role‑related skills and knowledge.
  • Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification (Desirable).
  • TAQA Assessor Award or equivalent (e.g. A1 or D32/33) (Desirable).
