Overview

Resourcing Advisor – One full-time permanent position – Wakefield. This vacancy has arisen as part of ongoing organisational change within the People Directorate, reflecting our commitment to evolving service delivery and strengthening our workforce to meet future demands. The role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a refreshed structure that supports our strategic priorities. West Yorkshire Police is seeking a proactive and organised Resourcing Advisor to join its Workforce Planning & Resourcing team. You will support the delivery of recruitment for police officers, staff, specials, and volunteers—acting as the first point of contact for hiring managers and ensuring a smooth, candidate-focused recruitment process from advert to appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise hiring managers on resourcing strategies and recruitment channels in line with the Force’s Recruitment Strategy.
  • Monitor candidate pipelines and job advert performance, identifying barriers and recommending solutions.
  • Manage candidate pools and signposting individuals to suitable opportunities to retain talent.
  • Administrate the full recruitment process, including pre-employment checks, onboarding, and issuing appointment documentation.
  • Support attraction events and maintaining accurate records of postings, transfers, and recruitment activity.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Experience in HR or administration with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Previous experience in recruitment or HR, and knowledge of in-house recruitment processes. (Desirable)
  • Working towards or holding a Level 3 CIPD qualification. (Desirable)
