Overview

West Yorkshire Police is seeking two strategic and solutions-focused Employee Relations Consultants to lead the development and delivery of policy and process improvement across the Force. These roles are central to delivering high-quality HR advice and process improvements in Employee Relations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide corporate and specialist HR support and advice to officers and staff across the organisation.
  • Lead and contribute to the design, review, and development of employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an up to date and detailed understanding of key workstreams/high priority areas of focus for the Force, developing innovative processes and procedures that support continuous improvement in these areas.
  • Interpret and present management information through effective reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, including Trade Unions and Staff Associations, to support policy development and implementation.
  • Contribute to key people projects that support the Force\’s strategic people agenda.

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified to Level 5 or working towards, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Proven experience working within a HR function, with strong knowledge of employment legislation and its practical application.
  • Experience in report writing and the ability to interpret and present management information.
  • Experience in policy design and development or similar work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience providing people-related advice and guidance to managers and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Trade Unions and Staff Associations. (Desirable)
