1 full-time permanent post (37 hours per week). West Yorkshire Police is looking to appoint an Animal Collection Officer. The appointed candidate will work within the Yorkshire and Humber Region.
The role involves working as part of a small team responsible for the daily care and welfare of seized dogs that are kennelled at the Unit. This will include regular exercising of the dogs, feeding and general cleaning duties at the kennels. The role will also entail attending and collecting animals from locations across West Yorkshire, and safely returning them to the kennels. Additional duties will include returning the animals, as well as organising and transporting them for veterinary assessments.
Working independently, as well as part of a team, the role requires a reliable, enthusiastic, and motivated individual. Potential candidates are advised to consider that the work can be physically demanding. The ability and willingness to work flexible hours to suit the demands of the business is a requirement. A 24/7 shift pattern is in operation at the Unit.
