Several openings have emerged for a Public Protection Review Officer to join the Safeguarding Team based at Kirklees District. In this role you will undertake tasks in relation to the management of Registered Sex Offenders (RSO's) in the community. This will include conducting assessments, registrations, periodic monitoring and reviews in compliance with relevant legislation to ensure effective management in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop management plans during visits to offenders' homes.
  • Investigate and research third‑party disclosure and applications for Sexual Harm Prevention Orders (SHPO’s) and make recommendations.
  • Liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies, providing advice and support as required.
  • Represent the District at Multi Agency meetings to enable informed management plans.

Qualifications

Resilience to manage the emotional impact of extremely sensitive issues, such as child and adult sexual abuse, is essential. Successful applicants will undergo personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
