Line Pilot (Rotary) – National Police Air Service – Permanent, 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Fly over 20,000 tasks annually providing aerial support to ground‑based officers and improving operational response within the highest safety standards.
- Engage in fast‑paced, dynamic missions such as pursuit of stolen vehicles, search for missing persons/suspects, and support for firearms incidents.
- Operate on pre‑planned tasks for large public events, Heads of State visits, and large demonstrations.
- Assist people in distress where required.
Qualifications
- UK Commercial Pilot’s Licence (Helicopter) with RT Licence, Class 1 Medical (unrestricted), and English language proficiency level 6.
- At least 1,500 hours of helicopter flying time, or 1,000 military helicopter hours, including:
- Minimum 100 hours of night flying, with 20 hours as Pilot in Command at night.
- 500 hours PIC overland under VMC.
- Demonstrated significant overland flying experience in a comparable operating environment.
- Hold a UK CAA Class 1 medical for Single Pilot Commercial Operations carrying passengers with an upper age limit of 60 years.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Resident in the UK for the last three years.
- Ability to work as part of a team, be a self‑starter, and communicate clearly and concisely.
