Overview
Counter Terrorism Digital Investigations Manager, Counter Terrorism Policing - North East (CTP NE), Digital Investigations, Leeds. One 37 hour permanent post. We have an exciting opportunity working within our Counter Terrorism Policing Team. We require someone to undertake the day to day management of the CT Digital Investigations Team, providing advanced technical knowledge and investigative skills in all aspects of CT digital investigative functions.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the CT Digital Investigations Team; provide advanced technical knowledge and investigative skills in all aspects of CT digital investigative functions.
- Ensure provision of an effective, efficient and comprehensive CT Digital Forensics Service in support of regional, national and international Counter Terrorism Policing; promote innovation and development through continuous improvement of systems, processes, working practices and technology.
- Work with the Quality Manager in a Technical Manager role within CT Digital Investigations scope of accreditation; provide specialist technical expertise, skills and knowledge in Digital Forensics, relevant to the implementation and maintenance of ISO17025/17020 accreditation and other associated legal and regulatory standards, ensuring that the department remains and operates in full compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science/Forensic Computing Studies or equivalent qualification in Digital Forensics and/or significant proven experience/training in these fields (or equivalent).
- Advanced understanding of the forensic analysis of digital devices, with experience working on a variety of crime types, including serious and complex cases, preparation of evidence and court testimony.
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally, nationally and internationally, possibly for extended periods.
- Willingness and ability to work unsociable hours, provide 24 hour cover if necessary and adapt hours at short notice.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workloads, work under pressure and make critical decisions to deliver service provision in order to meet customer requirements and Service Level Agreements.
- Discretion in handling sensitive information, maintaining utmost confidentiality at all times.
- Willingness to attend live scenes and terrorism-related incidents to provide expert digital forensic coordination to first responders, investigating officers, SIOs and partner agencies.
- Physical and emotional resilience to deal with offensive and abusive material of extreme violence, obscenity and depravity.
- Full UK/European driving licence.
Other Information
The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced level personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment. You must be a British citizen and eligible to hold a British passport to work in the CTP NE. For security reasons you should not discuss your application with anyone other than your immediate family.
