CCTV Officer

We are looking to appoint a CCTV Officer to join Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) and become part of our operational team based at Sensor House, Beverley. The post operates on a flexi scheme, working Monday to Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to join us in the CCTV section, where your main tasks will include the delivery of a comprehensive CCTV service to investigative officers and teams from across the region. This is an opportunity for individuals to develop their career within a continually evolving and technically advancing field. You will need to be confident, capable of learning quickly, have good communication skills and work effectively as part of a small, dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive CCTV service to investigative officers and teams across the region.
• Conduct technical processes relating to forensic retrieval, analysis and enhancement of CCTV images and other evidential material.
• Act as a point of escalation, providing specialist support, advice and technical assistance to meet investigative needs of all four forces within Yorkshire and Humber.
• Attend crime scenes and other locations to facilitate forensic recovery of CCTV media, ensuring all retrieval activities are conducted evidentially securely and in accordance with local, national and Home Office guidelines.
• Work in line with ISO 17025 accreditation standards, contributing to ongoing maintenance and development.
• Provide evidence in your application showing how you meet the requirements from past experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or experience in a related field.
• Practical experience with digital media and digital video systems.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware to component level.
• Working knowledge of common operating systems, including MS Windows.
• Willingness to work at height and in confined spaces.
• Physical and emotional resilience to manage exposure to potentially distressing images and scenes.
• Ability to work independently for periods of time.
• Completion of a manual lifting and handling course.
• Full current UK driving licence.
