Join us on a fixed term basis to support key projects in our Occupational Health Unit and help strengthen how we deliver our service. By joining West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, you'll play an important role in helping our Occupational Health Unit maintain an efficient and friendly department, that ensures that the people who save lives are healthy and fit to do their roles.

Job Purpose: To provide fixed-term administration support to the Occupational Health Unit for key workstreams. This role will provide essential project-based administrative support to the Occupational Health Unit to ensure efficient daily operations. Key tasks include configuring and optimising the OPAS G2 database to improve functionality, data quality, and reporting, and support implementation of changes within the unit and wider organisation. You will also manage and reduce the backlog of scanning and uploading medical documentation. You will help identify areas to streamline administrative processes to reduce duplication and maintain effective workflows and will also provide cover for reception during annual leave.

This is a proactive role that directly supports the quality, efficiency, and reliability of our occupational health service. You will have proven experience providing comprehensive administrative support and working with databases, including data entry, configuration, and reporting - ideally within a clinical, occupational health, or regulated environment. You will be positive, proactive, and solutions-focused, with experience of improving administrative processes and managing small projects from start to finish. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical for ensuring high-quality document control, and you should be confident working both independently and as part of a team. You must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and databases, with good literacy and numeracy gained through qualifications or work experience. Flexibility to provide admin/reception cover during annual leave is also required.
