We are looking to appoint an ICT Infrastructure Engineer to join our ICT Services section. At the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, we bring together local councils and businesses through the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), ensuring that our work meets the needs of employers and residents so that everyone in our region can benefit from economic prosperity supported by a modern, accessible transport network, housing and digital connections.
It is an exciting time to be joining the Combined Authority, following the announcement of a £1.8bn devolution deal that has been secured for West Yorkshire. Devolution will enable us to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and help deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.
The role of Technology within the Combined Authority has never been more business critical and following a successful digital transformation programme, the organisation’s approach to ICT is now more modern, dynamic and forward thinking. We have plans to continue this exciting change so that we become a truly Digital First organisation by the use of flexible, innovative solutions which will benefit our partners and staff. This role will help bring about that change.
Reporting into the ICT Technical Services Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Design, build and support the Office 365 and Microsoft Azure platforms.
- Support internal networks, firewalls, and connectivity.
- Implement security and end point protection in line with NCSC guidelines.
- Be a senior escalation point for all Incidents and Problems via a structured ICT Service Desk function.
About you
We are really interested in speaking to applicants who have experience in the following areas:
- Office 365, SharePoint, InTune and Azure platform management.
- LAN, WAN, WLAN and connectivity technologies preferably using Cisco and Meraki.
- Working as a senior engineer in a similar sized organisation with a proven track record of technical abilities.
