We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payments Coordinator to join our Operator Payments Team, within the wider Transport Services Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing the reimbursement of bus and rail operators delivering services across the region. As Payments Coordinator, you will lead on payments for a range of statutory and discretionary travel schemes, including concessionary travel, MCard (prepaid tickets), and capped fares. A key part of the role involves implementing the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) and ensuring that MCard payments are calculated and administered accurately on behalf of the West Yorkshire Ticketing Company Limited (WYTCL).
As we prepare to bring buses back under public control through franchising, our new Payments Coordinator will help to ensure our payment systems remain robust and reliable, whilst also supporting the development of new processes to enable a seamless transition to this new way of working.

The Role
Reporting into the Service Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
· Lead monthly preparation and verification of concession and prepaid ticket payments to bus operators.
· Manage two Payments Admin Assistants to ensure timely and accurate processing.
· Produce monthly MCard payment reports and maintain strong operator relationships to ensure accurate data and prompt query resolution.

About You
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:
· Qualified Accounting Technician – AAT level 4 Diploma or equivalent
· Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, understanding complex formulae and multiple functions
· Good organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
· The ability to work off your own initiative
· Good communication skills
· Knowledge of the Transport industry beneficial, but not essential
