Project Officer – Culture, Heritage and Sport

We currently have a fixed term vacancy for a Project Officer to join our Culture, Heritage and Sport team, with a background in creative industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support policy, investment, convening and championing within a suite of creative industries support and skills training initiatives to improve sector resilience and diversity.
  • Focus on priority sectors: fashion & textiles, games, immersive live experience, music, and screen.
  • Contribute to the delivery of regional strategies, including the West Yorkshire Plan, Mayoral Pledges, the Local Growth Plan, and the Creative Industries Cluster Action Plan.
  • Target resources effectively and deliver strategic, collaborative interventions to further develop the region’s culture, heritage, sport and creative industries sectors and engage with the Mayoral office.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusive Economy Directorate (Education and Skills, Business) and other Combined Authority teams (Research and Intelligence, Place, Marcomms, Mayoral Office).
  • Engage with external partners such as the five West Yorkshire Local Authorities (Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield), Arts Council England, Sport England, government departments, sector organisations, local communities, and maintain strong working relationships with the Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP).
