West Dean College of Arts and Conservation is seeking an experiencedand inspiring Subject Tutor in Garden Design to joinour dynamic School of Design, based at our new Bloomsbury campus.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly respectedspecialist institution that combines academic excellence withhands-on, practice-based learning. You will play a key role in shapingthe next generation of garden designers through studio-based teaching,assessment, and student support, as well as contributing to thedevelopment of our innovative curriculum.
What You’ll Do:
Plan, coordinate and deliver engaging teaching across our GardenDesign programmes.
Support students’ learning and development through tutorials,feedback, and guidance.
Maintain and update learning resources via our Virtual Learning Environment.
Contribute to programme development, quality assurance, andstudent recruitment activities.
Collaborate with visiting lecturers, industry professionals andcourse teams to enhance curriculum relevance and graduate employability.
What We’re Looking For:
A degree in Garden Design or a closely related discipline.
Significant professional and teaching experience within thegarden design sector.
Strong knowledge of garden design theory, practice, andspecialist techniques.
Confidence using SketchUp, Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, andMS Office.
A collaborative, student-centred approach and excellentcommunication skills.
A PgCert in Higher Education or Fellowship of the HEA.
Membership of relevant professional bodies such as BIID, SBID, or RIBA.
