Role Summary
The Head of IT for the UK Service Business Unit (SBU) is accountable for all end‑to‑end technology outcomes across the organisation, shaping strategy, prioritising investment, and ensuring the successful delivery and reliable operation of SBU‑aligned technology. As the strategic technology partner to SBU leadership, the role integrates strategy, demand, architecture, delivery, operations, and value realisation to ensure technology investments are aligned, funded, executed, adopted, and delivering tangible business results. The role also leads and develops a high‑performing technology team across the UK, India, and Lithuania, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy, Demand & Portfolio Ownership
- Translate SBU business strategy into actionable multi‑year technology roadmaps.
- Shape and prioritise demand, ensuring investment‑grade requests with clear outcomes, TCO, readiness, and benefits.
- Lead portfolio governance and ensure alignment between funding, strategy, and capacity.
- Build and maintain value cases; manage benefits tracking and post‑implementation evaluation.
- Delivery & Execution Accountability
- Own delivery of the SBU’s technology portfolio across scope, schedule, budget, quality, and value.
- Make trade‑offs across capacity, sequencing, dependencies, and release planning.
- Oversee programmes, projects, and product teams across run and change.
- Manage vendors and System Integrators, including SOWs, KPIs, and remediation.
- Drive agile execution with mature product ownership and clear business prioritisation.
- Run Operations & Technology Stewardship
- Ensure SBU applications and integrations operate reliably and meet SLAs and compliance requirements.
- Partner with Global IT Infrastructure & Operations to ensure effective operational performance and issue resolution.
- Architecture, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure SBU solutions comply with architecture, cybersecurity, and technology standards.
- Maintain strong oversight of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP platform.
- Co‑own risk, compliance, and cybersecurity posture with Corporate IT Cyber.
- Govern non‑functional requirements, environments, and technical debt.
- Stakeholder, Communication & Change Leadership
- Act as primary liaison between the SBU and IT, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Drive communication, business readiness, adoption, and organisational change.
- Serve as escalation point for cross‑functional blockers and expectation gaps.
- Coordinate resolution plans ensuring clear communication across stakeholders.
- Lead the Dynamics platform team including Architects, Developers, Scrum Master, and BAs.
- Build a high‑performing, empowered, and collaborative team.
- Strengthen product/platform operating model capabilities and agile ways of working.
- Manage indirect relationships with IT Infrastructure & Operations to ensure continuity.

- Agile/DevOps, CI/CD, release management, lifecycle management.
- Cybersecurity frameworks, GDPR, resilience planning.
- ITIL service management and operational performance metrics.
- Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics ERP and related platforms.
- Budgeting, forecasting, TCO modelling, and vendor governance.
- Data governance, analytics, AI, automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Master’s degree in Information Systems or a business discipline preferred.
