My Choice Children's Homes provide residential care for Looked After Children across nine homes in Sussex and Surrey. We are looking for experienced staff who have worked in a caring environment for children and/or adolescents to act as a professional parent for our Looked After Children. Having a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is an advantage, and if you do not have this qualification we will provide training and support to achieve it.

We are a child‑orientated, needs‑led organisation established to provide a positive life‑enhancing opportunity for young people who are unable to sustain a placement in their parental homes or conventional children’s homes. We provide a safe and secure environment for the development of young people and support them to face past and present difficulties, aiming to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Hours of work – average 42 hours per week, based on a five‑week rolling rota of “two days on, three days off.” You are required to work any day of the week and to sleep in at the home (sleeping room provided) when on duty. The shift schedule is as follows:

  • Day 1 shift: 10 am – 11 pm; sleep‑in: 11 pm – 8 am
  • Day 2 shift: 8 am – 11 pm; sleep‑in: 11 pm – 8 am
  • Day 3 shift: 8 am – 10 am; sleep‑in: 11 pm – 8 am
