Hostel Support Worker – Days (Bognor and Chichester Hostel)
Salary: £23,759 per annum
Location: Chichester
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time – 37.42 hours per week, working on a rota with a 4 shifts on / 2 shifts off pattern. Shifts are a combination of 7.45am-4.15pm and 11.30am-8.00pm.

Your role involves supporting homeless adults who may face challenges such as mental health and substance misuse issues. The goal is to support and signpost clients to services that enhance their housing, health, and wellbeing, thereby improving their quality of life. This includes providing engagement, individualized support plans, targeted interventions, signposting, and group work. Building strong relationships and gaining clients\’ trust to deliver excellent service is essential.
Working both independently and as part of a team, the successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to motivate, engage, and inspire. The role requires a calm and effective approach to challenging situations.
Role Duties:
- Manage case allocation for clients.
- Conduct case management reviews, including risk assessments.
- Engage with clients weekly through key work sessions to improve outcomes, maintaining clear boundaries.
- Promote clients’ independence and community presence, preparing them for independent living by supporting lifestyle skills such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, and self-care.
- Manage and de-escalate disputes or emergencies, recording incident reports.
- Write case notes in the client database system.
