Hours: Full Time - 37.42 hours - working on a rota - 4 shifts on/2 shifts off combination of 7.45am-4.15pm and 11.30am-8.00pm shifts.
We are recruiting for a Hostel Support Worker. Stonepillow supports and empowers homeless and vulnerable people to achieve sustainable independence and wellbeing and make positive changes in their lives. Your role will be to support homeless adults who may be experiencing a number of complexities including mental health and substance misuse issues. The aim of the role is to support and signpost clients into services that will improve their housing, health and wellbeing while improving the client’s quality of life. This is achieved through the provision of engagement and individualised support plans, targeted interventions, signposting and group work.
You will work proactively to form strong relationships and gain clients' trust, striving to provide the best possible service levels at all times. Working as part of a team as well as independently, the successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to motivate, engage and inspire including the initiative to be able to deal with challenging situations in a calm and effective manner.
Role Duties:
- Manage case allocation of clients.
- Conduct case management reviews which involve undertaking risk assessments.
- Actively engage with clients on a weekly basis in key work sessions to improve client outcomes ensuring clear boundaries are adhered to.
- Promote clients’ independence and meaningful community presence prepare them for independent living so they are ready to transfer to alternative accommodation.
- This is achieved by supporting and encouraging clients to maintain a clean and safe physical environment and offering advice where needed to promote lifestyle skills such as cleaning, laundry, cooking and self-care.
- Managing and deescalating any disputes or emergencies recording incident reports.
