The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role within the organisation, leading the planning and delivery of integrated, insight‑led marketing campaigns that support student recruitment, commercial income growth, audience development, and brand awareness. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will deliver high‑quality campaigns across digital, print, PR, social media and content marketing channels. You’ll combine creativity with analytical thinking, using audience insight and performance data to shape compelling campaigns that deliver measurable impact. This role offers the opportunity to work across a uniquely varied portfolio including Higher Education, Short Courses, Commercial Events, Gardens & Visitor Experiences, Collections & Archives, and Heritage & Cultural Programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver integrated multi‑channel marketing campaigns
- Monitor campaign performance, engagement, recruitment and revenue metrics
- Use audience insight and market analysis to optimise activity and drive growth
- Develop and implement an insight‑led content strategy
- Oversee content planning and production across all channels
- Manage freelancers and external agencies
- Refine and maintain West Dean’s distinctive brand voice
- Collaborate on digital campaigns, SEO and website optimisation
- Oversee social media delivery through line management of the Senior Marketing Executive
- Identify and secure PR and media opportunities
- Draft press releases and manage media enquiries
- Lead, motivate and develop members of the Marketing team
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across departments
- Manage campaign budgets effectively and monitor ROI
About You
You will be a strategic and hands‑on marketing professional with experience delivering impactful campaigns across multiple channels. You will have:
- Strong content creation and copywriting skills
- Experience managing social media and content calendars
- Ability to interpret data and evaluate campaign performance
- Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
- PR and media campaign experience
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness and a results‑focused mindset
- Experience in Higher Education, arts, heritage or cultural sectors
- Experience with SEO, paid media and audience segmentation
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools
- An interest in arts, craft, conservation or heritage
