As part of our commitment to provide a first-class service to our customers, we are seeking a dedicated Electrical Systems Assistant to ensure the smooth functioning of the electrical components within our fleet of Mclaren Artura GT4s, Ginetta G56s, LMP2 prototypes, Formula 3000s and race engineered Caterhams.
Working closely with PalmerSport mechanics and technical staff, you will play a key role in fault-finding, system development, and continuous improvement across our vehicles. You will apply data-driven insight to identify reliability trends, support live issues, and implement robust engineering solutions that enhance performance and streamline processes. There may also be the possibility of working alongside the GB3 and GB4 championship trackside technical team to support as and when required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting both PalmerSport and GB3 & 4 mechanics with fault-finding using electrical diagnostics, data analysis, and structured problem-solving.
- Repairing, maintaining, and building electrical and electronic components for the PalmerSport vehicle fleet.
- Analysing vehicle data to identify early signs of reliability concerns and behavioural trends.
- Designing and implementing improved systems and solutions in response to operational feedback.
- Producing and interpreting wiring schematics and circuit diagrams.
- Supporting on-site activities at selected events, including occasional travel.
Requirements:
- Strong familiarity with System 25 components and motorsport wiring standards.
- Experience working with Deutsch AS connectors, fine-gauge wiring, booting, splicing, and termination.
- Ability to read and produce wiring and circuit diagrams.
- Proven fault-finding skills using a multimeter and power probe.
- Working knowledge of at least one data analysis platform such as Pi Toolbox, MoTeC i2, Bosch WinDarab, or WINTAX.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a willingness to go beyond expectations.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to mechanics and non-technical staff.
- Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

The Electrical Systems Assistant position will be based full time at our bespoke Bedford Autodrome complex. Core working hours are 42.5 hours Monday to Friday, but if you would like the opportunity to work within the GB3 & GB4 trackside support team, these will take place over race weekends.
