Are you a skilled Aircraft Engineer with a passion for precision, safety, and teamwork? We’re looking for an experienced Aircraft Engineer to join our dynamic Aircraft Engineering team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft to the highest standards, ensuring they are airworthy and ready for operation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Maintenance & Repair
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, and repairs on aircraft structures, engines, and systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment safely and effectively.
- Interpret and apply maintenance data (AMM, IPC) accurately.
- Provide your own basic toolbox suitable for the role.
Inspections & Compliance
- Conduct pre-flight, post-flight, and routine inspections under supervision.
- Ensure all work complies with aviation regulations (CAA/FAA), manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.
- Assist in maintaining accurate technical records and documentation.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and crew chiefs to complete tasks efficiently.
- Communicate technical issues and progress clearly in verbal and written technical English.
Safety & Quality
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain high quality standards in all maintenance activities.
- Participate in safety briefings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Continuous Development
- Stay up to date with technical knowledge through training and mentoring.
- Support the development of junior fitters and apprentices.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised Aircraft Maintenance Qualification (e.g., BTEC or equivalent), or a comprehensive OJT record.
- Previous experience in aircraft maintenance, ideally within line or base maintenance on GA piston-engine types.
- Solid understanding of aircraft structures, powerplants, mechanical systems, and basic avionics.
- Familiarity with aviation safety regulations and quality standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Effective communicator and team player.
- UK CAA Part 66 Licence or progress toward Part 66 modules is desirable.
