About the role
Based at East Town Park in Haverhill, you will be working within the existing Ranger Services and will be involved in encouraging the use of parks and open spaces within West Suffolk.
Duties
- patrolling parks and public open spaces on a bicycle, on foot and using a work vehicle
- meeting and advising the public in the use of the facilities
- enforcing regulations
- promoting a customer-oriented approach
- assisting in the running of events
- maintaining the protection and security of all the facilities and equipment within the parks, including flora and fauna and ancient monuments
- working with volunteers on conservation, maintenance and landscaping tasks.
Requirements

- good numeracy and literacy
- the ability to use handheld mechanical equipment.
A good knowledge of the local area is also desirable.
Additional information
*As part of the annualised hours rota, up to 32 hours per week will be worked in the summer and up to 19 hours per week in the winter. The rota will involve weekend and evening working in the summer.
A full driving licence is required.
