Ongar Health Centre is looking for a motivated and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our friendly and supportive team.

  • Deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services to patients
  • Undertake structured medication reviews and medicines reconciliation
  • Act as an independent prescriber to manage & optimise patient treatment plans
  • Support safe, cost-effective prescribing in line with local and national guidance
  • Manage long-term conditions and contribute to chronic disease management
  • Respond to medication queries from patients and clinical staff
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team
  • Support quality improvement and prescribing audit initiatives

The successful candidate must be able to undertake a range of duties to support the multidisciplinary team, be able to work as part of a team, have the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload on a day-to-day basis.

Essential
  • GPhC registered Pharmacist
  • Hold the GPhC independent prescribing qualification
  • An appreciation of the nature of GP's and general practice
  • An appreciation of the nature of primary care prescribing
  • Experience and awareness of common acute and chronic conditions that are likely to be seen in general practice
  • Excellent communication skills with a clear and polite telephone manner
  • Work in a polite, confidential, and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times
  • Confident to work as part of a team and be able to think on your feet independently
  • Strong IT and administration skills
  • Previous experience of SystmOne clinical system is desirable but not essential as training will be given

Ongar Health Centre is a busy training practice yet friendly dispensing practice, serving a patient population of 12,700 and operating from purpose built premises.
