About the Role

The Leiston Surgery are a friendly, innovative and well-organised surgery pleased to be recruiting an experienced pharmacy technician to their established team. This position can be offered on a full or part-time basis and offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in primary care and develop professionally within a collaborative and patient focused environment.

Main Duties

  • Work with a team of GPs, pharmacists, technicians, practice nurses, social prescribers, physiotherapists and registrars/students
  • Liaise with clinicians and administrative staff to resolve medicines-related queries
  • Monitor practice prescribing and adherence to local and national prescribing policies
  • Improve service and quality through mechanisms such as audit
  • Provide structured medication reviews, manage long term conditions and the management of medicines on transfer of care and systems for safer prescribing
  • Manage repeat prescription authorisations and reauthorisation, acute prescription request

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will:

  • Be a registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC
  • Hold a NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services, or equivalent
  • Have strong experience working as a pharmacy technician
  • Possess strong IT skills
  • Have attention to detail
  • Have the ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently
  • Understand data protection, confidentiality and safeguarding principles

About Us

The doctors and staff aspire to provide traditional family medicine and the highest quality of care. The Leiston Surgery boasts a friendly and supportive atmosphere, creating a strong team spirit. The four GP partners all have special interests and actively encourage the clinical team to develop their own skills. The clinical team currently consists of three salaried GPs, two physician associates, two practice nurses, one nurse associate and three health care assistants, clinical pharmacists, social prescribing team, physiotherapists and a mental health link worker.
