Little Waltham and Great Notley Surgery are looking to welcome a Practice Nurse to the team. This position is offered on ideally a part-time basis, with hours negotiable but you must be flexible and able to cover holidays/sickness.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments.
  • Providing and evaluating a range of health interventions to ensure that patients’ health and social care needs are met.
  • General health and well-being promotion as well as creating individual, person-centred plans for patients with, or at risk of, a long term condition.
  • Managing and treating long-term conditions, in line with national and local policies and the practice needs.
  • Chronic disease management.
  • Supporting and managing the health needs of women presenting for sexual health and contraception, and cervical cytology consultations.
  • Family planning clinics.
  • Implementing, and participating in, vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children, including patients travelling abroad.
  • Meeting the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care.

All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience:

  • A relevant nursing degree.
  • Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
  • Diabetes trained.
  • Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation including management of chronic disease management, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations and dressing and wound care.
  • Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work.

We are a 2-site, friendly training practice with over 21,000 patients. You will be supported by our team of 14 doctors, 3 nurse practitioners, nurses, healthcare assistants, receptionist, and admin team.
