The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.

Little Waltham and Great Notley Surgery has an opportunity for a dispenser to join our busy pharmacy team, working across both our sites, at the heart of our patient care service. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 25 hours per week working the following:

  • Monday 8.30am to 1.30pm
  • Wednesday 8.30am to 6.30pm
  • Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm

The main responsibilities of the role:

  • Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses
  • Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient
  • Process hospital letters
  • Process dossette boxes
  • Manage ordering stock and stock control
  • Answer and deal with dispensary phone enquiries
  • Monitor patients’ exemption status
  • Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication
  • Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by either the dispensary manager or practice manager

If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and experience:

  • You will have at least a Diploma Level 2 Dispensary or equivalent Pharmacy Services qualification
  • Excellent clinical and medication knowledge
  • Understanding and experience of working as a dispenser in GP practice setting
  • The commitment to continue to learn new clinical skills and develop your career
  • The confidence to work as part of a busy GP multi-disciplinary practice team and using your own initiative in decision making
  • The ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach
  • Excellent patient facing inter-personal communication skills

We are a 2-site, friendly training practice with over 21,000 patients. You will be supported by our team of 14 doctors, 3 nurse practitioners, nurses, healthcare assistants, receptionist, and admin team.
