About the Role

Would you like the opportunity to work in a busy practice on the edge of Northampton? Woodview Medical Centre is looking for a full-time or part-time salaried GP - number of sessions is negotiable - to join our supportive practice. You will be working in modern purpose built premises with a pharmacy and dental surgery on site with dedicated doctors parking with full CCTV surveillance and near major roads. The post-holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care services to the practice population, managing a broad spectrum of health issues in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Salary negotiable depending on experience and no. of patients per session
  • 6 weeks annual leave

Main duties of the role:

  • Provide general medical services in accordance with the GMS contract.
  • Conduct patient consultations, face-to-face, telephone, and the occasional home visit where appropriate.
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Promote health education and preventative medicine.
  • Undertake clinical procedures within scope of competence.
  • Process laboratory results and hospital letters (which have been triaged to reduce to bare minimum).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using SystmOne.
  • Follow agreed protocols and guidelines (e.g. NICE).

Team and Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
  • Participate in practice meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support supervision and training of medical students, registrars, or other staff if applicable.

All applicants should have the following qualifications:

Essential:
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Fully qualified GP (UK MRCGP/CCT equivalent)
  • Inclusion on the NHS Performers List
  • Experience of working in UK general practice or equivalent setting
