About the Role
Mill Road Surgery in Colchester is seeking an efficient and highly organized medical secretary to join our dynamic team to work on a part-time basis. Hours to be discussed at interview.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide administrative support to doctors and other healthcare professionals
- Prepare and manage correspondence, including letters, emails, and reports
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
- Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries from patients, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
- Process referrals, tasks and incoming emails from patients and third-party providers
- Assist in the preparation of medical documents
- Ensure the practice’s policies and procedures are adhered to, particularly in relation to patient confidentiality and data protection
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure a seamless patient experience.
About the Candidate
- Previous experience as a secretary or a role of similar nature
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of SystmOne is also desirable
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent patient care
