About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Writtle Surgery for a part-time experienced medical secretary to join the well-established, friendly team.
Key duties will include:
  • Providing essential secretarial duties.
  • Managing all telephone and email enquiries.
  • Managing referrals to secondary care.
  • Audio typing of GP correspondence using a digital dictation system.
  • Liaising with patients about their care and assisting GPs with negotiating care pathways.

About the Candidate

We would welcome applications from those with the following skills and experience:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent general IT skills, including MS Office, and ideally experience of working with a clinical system.
  • An understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and data security at all times.
  • The ability to multi-task and work accurately under pressure.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Applicants should be flexible to cover colleagues\’ sickness or holiday.

About Us

The Writtle Surgery is a 3-partner semi-rural dispensing practice serving approximately 8,000 patients. We have 3 salaried GPs and a fully staffed team including practice nurses, dispensers, secretaries, administrators, clinical pharmacists, and receptionists.
