Heacham Group Practice is looking for a salaried GP to join their team for 6 sessions per week - we can be flexible to hours and days so please apply to discuss. The ideal applicant will be enthusiastic, highly organised, motivated, forward thinking and must share our passion for delivering high-quality, personalised care to our patients. Please note, there may be an opportunity for future partnership for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
  • Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Developing care plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
  • Providing health education.
  • Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements.
  • Delivering enhanced services.
  • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Involvement in surgery quality improvement, educational meetings and clinical governance including QOF achievement.

About the Candidate

All applicants should have the following qualifications:

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
  • Be on the NHSE medical performers list
  • Sponsorship available

  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services.
  • Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date.
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
  • Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.

About Us

Heacham Group Practice is a long-established, friendly GP Practice with two surgeries at Heacham and Snettisham providing excellent quality healthcare for approximately 7,600 patients. We receive overwhelmingly positive comments through Friends and Family tests and perform above the national average for the National General Practice Patient Survey. Our clinical team includes two GP partners, salaried GPs, ANP and very skilled nursing team including nurse practitioner, specialist nurses and HCAs. We are supported by an experienced administrative team who work closely with our clinical team providing excellent patient care, along with a dedicated and supportive work environment. We work alongside a wide range of other healthcare professionals including physiotherapists, frailty team, social prescriber through our PCN (Coastal PCN). We are proud to be a training practice for GP registrars. Our clinical system is SystmOne and we also utilise AccuRx to support our processes.
