About the Role

Derby Road, part of Suffolk Primary Care, are seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner/ANP/Paramedic Practitioner to join their team on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our urgent, on-the-day care service, supporting both adults and children with a wide range of minor illnesses.

You will need to hold a prescriber qualification.

We have an established team with a strong focus on customer service and communication.

We would love to hear from candidates with GP surgery experience although we would also like to hear from those that can show flexibility and a range of transferable skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work within professional boundaries to accurately examine and assess patients with an undifferentiated diagnosis, from a physiological, psychological and social perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly.
  • Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions, integrating both drug and non-drug-based treatment methods into a management plan.
  • Seek advice and support from a senior clinician as appropriate to inform decision making around patient care.
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
  • Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness appropriate to patient needs, and administer medication in accordance with PGD/ Independent Nurse Prescribing.
  • Provide information and advice on prescribed or non-prescription medication, on medication regimens, side-effects and interactions.
  • Work with patients in order to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments.
  • Ensure full and accurate documentation in patient notes of clinical history, physical examination, diagnosis and treatment plan.

The interview panel will consist of a minimum of 2 people. Shortlisting will be on Tuesday 4th Aug with interviews w/c 10th Aug.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate should be able to work calmly and professionally as part of a team.

You should have the ability to multi‑task.

A strong command of written and spoken English with an excellent telephone manner is a must.

Good time management skills and the ability to follow protocols and or instruction and attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications, skills and experience required

  • Professional registration with relevant professional body: NMC, HCPC or GPh C
  • Registered nurse or equivalent
  • Independent prescriber
  • Be working towards level 7 capabilities
  • Minimum of 3 years experience
  • Evidence of on‑going CPD
  • Advanced clinical assessment skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform in stressful and complex situations
  • Sound clinical reasoning & decision making
  • Flexibility
