The Holbrook and Shotley Practice are looking to welcome an Administration Assistant to the team on a part-time basis for 2.5 days per week. With previous experience working within a GP practice, the ideal candidate will be knowledgeable on insurance admin and clinical coding to be considered.

Duties will include:

  • Reviewing all incoming correspondence, filing the document and entering information
  • Carrying out required actions via the patient's electronic medical record in accordance with the coding workflow protocol
  • Carry out administrative related tasks as delegated by clinical lead and practice manager
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as allocated by the manager

  • Experience working as a clinical coder in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience of managing insurance administration
  • Ability to communicate effectively, working in a confidential and discreet manner
  • Ability to multi-task, work efficiently and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently

Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.

The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is a GP Practice across two surgery sites. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care to our 8000 patients. Our practice team comprises of three GP partners, two salaried GPs, supported by a highly experienced team of nurses, dispensers, paramedics, and reception team.
