The Elizabeth Courtauld Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a healthcare assistant to join our diverse and multi-skilled professional team to provide high quality person-centred, holistic nursing care to patients. This post is available for 37.5 hours per week, over five days (weekdays only). Part‑time applications will be considered for the right candidate. The successful candidate will join a practice that takes pride in its ‘can do’ attitude and forward‑thinking. You will work within what can be a busy, often demanding, but highly rewarding environment with an experienced and welcoming team.
Duties will include:
- Wound care
- Vaccinations (seasonal flu and pneumovax)
- Injections in line with PSD and practice guidelines
- ECGs/BPs
- Phlebotomy
- Health monitoring and management
- NHS health checks
- Assisting with minor surgery clinics
- Experience with chronic disease management (qualified or willingness to undertake training)
Salary depends on qualifications/chronic disease management experience. Please note that should this vacancy attract sufficient interest, it may be necessary to close the vacancy at an earlier date. We therefore suggest that you apply at an early stage to avoid disappointment.
The healthcare assistant role within general practice can be very different to the role in other settings and as such we are only looking for applications from those with previous primary care experience. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.
Skills and qualifications required:
- Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
- Experience of working within a GP practice
- Strong clinical skills as listed above
- Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
Elizabeth Courtauld Surgery is a friendly and welcoming SystmOne practice with a list size of 17,000. The practice has achieved a ‘Good’ CQC rating.
