Howard House Surgery is looking to recruit an advanced clinical practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team, to help us to transform and modernise pathways of care, enabling the safe and effective sharing of skills across traditional professional boundaries. The vacancy is for 2-3 days a week; however, this may be negotiable for the right candidate. Some shifts will include our extended hours cover on Monday or Tuesdays 1830-2000. Flexibility is crucial to accommodate training, holidays and occasional sickness.
The successful candidate may come from a range of professional backgrounds. As an experienced healthcare professional, educated to master’s level, they will have developed the skills and knowledge to allow them to take on an expanded role and scope of practice caring for patients. The main responsibilities of the post holder will be to work independently managing your own list of patients to contact, assess and manage clinical consultations and accurate recording of medical records. You will use AskMyGP and SystmOne to review requests and either telephone or see face to face as appropriate. Working as part of a team, alongside other GP's, nurse practitioners, nurses and healthcare assistants, as well as non-clinical colleagues.
The post-holder will:
- Demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers.
- Be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner within the designated speciality area to provide patient-centred clinical care. This will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate.
- Support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient-focused service, and will ensure the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in their area.
- Have responsibility for leading the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:
- Professional registration with relevant professional body: NMC, HCPC or GPhC
- Post-graduate qualification in specific speciality, or equivalent experience
- Post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in specialty area
