GP Primary Choice are looking to welcome a Clinical Lead Nurse to the team on a full‑time basis for up to 37.5 hours per week. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this role will have delegated authority for clinical decision‑making, clinical governance oversight, and supervision of a team of clinical staff delivering GPPC services.

Duties will include:

  • Provide support and development in the delivery of quality care, continually assessing the service provided with a focus on quality and patient safety outcomes.
  • Identify gaps in skills and knowledge and ensure these are addressed through training and mentoring, with evidence of training certificates.
  • Ensure that sufficient capacity is available across the service to meet demand levels and that response times indicated in the contract are met (urgent and routine).
  • Act as an advisor on clinical issues for less experienced members of the team.
  • Assist in the annual review of clinical services, focusing on quality improvement, productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure transparency in decision‑making and maintain good governance by supporting the development of and adhering to established policies and guidelines.
  • Help plan and co‑ordinate patient care, assess health risks, implement evidence‑based solutions, and facilitate effective team communication.
  • Ensure local adherence to agreed pathways and commissioning policies.
  • Ensure high levels of service against the KPIs set, and compliance with Information Governance (IG) policies and processes.
  • Support the development and deployment of new services, ensuring all governance requirements are met.
  • Support the investigation and associated learning of critical incidents, needlestick injuries, near misses, or IG breaches, and assist in resolving complaints.
  • Ensure that directors receive accurate, timely, and clear information, including updates on the company’s current performance, to enable sound decision‑making, effective monitoring, and the promotion of GP Primary Choice.

All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience:

Essential:

  • A relevant nursing degree
  • Current NMC registration with an active PIN
  • Practising healthcare clinician
  • Healthcare management and leadership skills
  • Understanding of the NHS, particularly primary care
  • Understanding of change management processes to improve clinical care
  • Experience in drafting reports for submission to peers

Desirable:

  • ARTP registered
  • Cervical screening practitioner
  • Knowledge of SystemOne and/or EMIS
  • Experience in quality improvement projects
