About the Role

Ongar Health Centre have a new opportunity for a qualified Dispenser to join our team for 20 hours per week. The hours will be 8:00am – 18:30pm Thursday and Friday with a 30-minute break each day.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Dispensing medicines and collecting prescription charges.
  • Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, liaising with the dispensing manager to facilitate reordering.
  • Receiving and storing supplies, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable.
  • Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed in accordance with practice policy.
  • Safely disposing of returned and/or out of date medicines.
  • Ensuring all repeat prescriptions are processed within a 72-hour timeframe.
  • Providing patients with advice regarding all prescription matters.
  • Always maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate must have the following:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services
  • Previous experience of working within a Pharmacy or Dispensary is desirable but not essential

We are also looking for the following skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A clear and polite telephone manner
  • Respectful of patient confidentiality
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously

About Us

We are a large, busy training practice, serving a patient population of 12,700 and operating from purpose-built premises. We use Systmone clinical system and are rated Good with CQC.
