North Chelmsford Healthcare Centre is looking to recruit an Admin Assistant to join our busy admin team, working across both our main site and our branch surgery in Beaulieu. This role is for a minimum of 22.5 hours per week (excluding a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day).

Working Hours:

  • Tuesday: 8:00am–4:00pm
  • Wednesday: 10:00am–6:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am–4:00pm

Additional hours are available within the contract, and the successful candidate may work longer days (e.g. 8:00am–6:00pm) should they wish.

Duties will include:

  • Typing and processing of referrals (minimum typing speed 50 words per minute)
  • Summarising medical records
  • Processing and coding incoming patient information
  • Entering discharge summaries and read coding any problems
  • Raising blood test requests and allocating blood results to the GPs
  • Contacting and liaising with hospitals/external services/patients as requested by clinicians
  • Chasing results
  • Processing tasks within our clinical system
  • Processing registrations
  • Dealing with patient enquiries via post, email, telephone and our triage system

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent administrative, keyboard and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a good standard of English, both written and verbal.
  • At least two years of administrative experience in an office setting.
  • An excellent telephone manner is essential.
