We are urgently seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative to join our busy logistics team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to contribute to efficient stock management and order fulfilment processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for various warehousing tasks, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high safety standards. Previous experience with warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge will be highly advantageous.

Duties:

  • Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including forklifts where qualified.
  • Manage stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stock replenishment.
  • Operate warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory movements and update records.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
  • Maintain organisation of the warehouse space, ensuring all items are stored correctly.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance issues.
  • Support with construction or refurbishment tasks within the warehouse as required.
  • Utilise AS400 systems for inventory control and order processing.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, including stocking, picking & packing, shipping & receiving.
  • Valid forklift licence (preferred) or willingness to undertake training.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platform.
  • Mechanical knowledge or experience with materials handling equipment is desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks.
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail in stock control and documentation.
  • Physical fitness to handle long periods of standing, walking, and manual handling tasks.
  • Construction or similar practical experience is a plus but not essential.
