Intake & Stock Manager (Food Industry)

I\’m delighted to be recruiting for my Client based in Pontefract for an experienced Intake and Stock Manager.

You will be joining one of the leading food manufacturing businesses who supply meat products to retailers and home meal-kit suppliers.

The role is to ensure that the site operates within the legal, safety and quality. You will be responsible for upholding the integrity of my Clients customers brands by ensuring all products, processes, and communications meet the company\’s exacting quality, safety, and ethical standards. This includes strict adherence to customer specifications, technical policies, and brand values across sourcing, production, packaging, and labelling.

This position is a hands-on role, requiring proactive engagement with your internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Health & Safety of all employees, visitors and contractors in their respective area.
  • Lead and drive the Site\’s food safety culture across intake, stock control and off-site facility (Storlogs) up 25 heads.
  • Support the overall intake of raw material, planning of inbound and decanting plans, application of traceability standards, manning of both sites to meet the production plans utilising the fresh and frozen raw material.
  • Liaise with key stake holders namingly planning, production, logistics and technical departments.
  • Responsible for ensuring all department operations are maintained to the required standards following the specified policies and procedures applicable to all business, customer and legal standards; controlling and managing all processes and practices within area to ensure that quality and outputs targets are met.
  • Reporting of all relevant department KPI\’s, focusing on achieving targets utilising continuous Improvement activities to reach and strive to exceed them.
  • Understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures which are relevant to both the site and the working environment. Ensure these are culturally lead to the team.
  • End to end management of goods inwards, decanting and thawing plan, delivery to production and stock taking routines daily.
  • Growth position, deputising if required to cover the site factory manager (once training and guidance has been given).
  • Any other duties as deemed reasonable by your line manager or senior management to assist with the operation of the business.

Candidate Requirements

  • A passionate manufacturing professional, cultural leader, with the ability to manage strategic challenges as well as day-to-day operational requirements.
  • IOSH managing safely preferred.
  • Food safety qualification, ideally at least FS LVL 3.
  • HACCP at least level 2.
  • COSSH training preferable.
  • Stock systems hands on knowledge preferable.
  • Can operate at multi levels of the business if and when required to, (step up/ step down).
  • A knowledgeable operational professional with exceptional experience within the FMCG sector – experience within chilled/cooked meats, stock control, manual handling. Also retail customer experience.
  • Experience of operating in a multi level site reporting structure.
  • Proven track record of Leadership, manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Confident and focused, data driven decision maker with analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
  • First class communicator with well developed interpersonal skills, able to relate to, work with and influence people at all levels internally and externally.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, will work on own initiative and propose solutions and not identify problems, can do, will do attitude.
  • Experience of management in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to deliver against multiple audit and legal requirements.
  • Flexibility on working hours to deliver the Key standards for performance.

Hours of Work
