I am delighted to be recruiting for a full time Production Shift Supervisor to join my Client based in Huddersfield HD2. Working for a very well established, highly respected manufacturing business you will form part of the Supervisory Team managing your Team Members throughout their shift. This will be working a rotational shift pattern (one of 3 shift supervisors – supervisors working hours cross over the general shift pattern). The factory is open 24 hours 5 days a week, with occasional weekend working. Hourly rate includes shift allowance. Bonus is variable on production targets.
Previous experience supervising a team is essential.
Responsibilities include managing a team to:
- Ensure shift start, finish and break times are adhered to by all team members
- Manage H & S / correct usage of PPE
- Ensure team members are working in line with production expectations
- Ensure shift schedule is followed in an optimal order which meets both customer collection requirements and plant throughput efficiencies
- Ensure all work carriers are fully loaded
- Ensure part identification and counts are accurate
- Ensure any rejects are re-processed by the end of each shift
- Ensure all loads that are questionable are passed or rejected within the shift
- Ensure all working areas are tidy, safe and all rubbish is allocated correctly
- Notify maintenance of any occurring problems
- Ensure quality control stamps are being used where needed
- Liaise with packing supervisor to ensure loads are processed at the right time
- Organise suitable cover / overtime to maintain production throughput
- Issue disciplinary procedures with the help of production manager as required
- Employee time management and monitoring of absence
- Present daily shift performance to the production manager at the scheduled daily hand over meeting
- Carry out a detailed handover with the incoming shift supervisor
Requirements:
- Supervisory experience required
- Experience within a Production/Manufacturing environment
- Be hands-on
- Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills
An hourly pay rate of up to £17.50 will be offered based upon experience.
