We are looking for an experienced Depot Foreman to join an aspiring company based in Featherstone, Wakefield. This is an ideal role for a Depot Foreman who is highly organised and conscientious.
The role of the Depot Foreman involves:
Manage and be responsible for yard/depot workforce, plant, materials, suppliers and sub-contractors.
Assist with phasing, planning and programing of plant and programming of plant/materials/equipment required for each contract.
Manage the yard/Depot/fleet QUENSH performance in line with company policies.
Completion of yard/depot/fleet files in line with company policy and QMS and ensure compliance.
Responsible for yard/Depot communications with workforce/suppliers and sub- contractors.
Assist with operations training and competency in line with company policy and QMS and ensure compliance.
Support the company’s objectives in term of Health and Safety and Environmental
Manage, promote and enhance Safe working in all activities involving the Depot and yard.
Management of vehicle defect reporting, and repairs.
Ensure that the depot is run in an efficient/cost effective manner with regards to all plant and machinery including the company’s vehicle fleet.
Ensure that co-operation with the Contract managers/ Senior Supervisors that a minimum stock level of all materials is maintained at all times.
Ensure that co-operation with the Contract Managers/Senior Supervisors that all plant, including hire plant is checked for workability before either being reallocated to another job and/or being of hired.
To operate/manage a LEAN environment within the depot area.
Promote and Support Health and Safety and Environmental training, identifying needs of the workforce, ensure that training is books and carried out.
Manage and improve the Safe System of work.
Carry out Safety Inspections Depot/Yard and report and action any findings or improvements required.
Minimise waste and re-use materials where possible.
The Depot Foreman position will suit a person with skills:
Excellent understanding of Preventative and Emergency repairs to various types of Plant/Tools and Equipment. Including vehicles.
Welding.
Abrasive Wheel Training.
Computer literate for record keeping/data entry and report writing in Word and Excel and other computer packages as used in the business.
Good organisation skills and attention to detail.
Highly numerate with well-developed ability t6o accurately manipulate numerical information.
Able to work under pressure, be confident and resourceful.
Evidence of maintaining a professional, consistent and fair approach.
Must be a team player but also to work on own initiative.
Driving license.
Personal commitment to equality and diversity.
Be able to work UK Wide.
Qualifications Required :
CSCS Card
First Aid at work would be preferred but not essential.
