Role Overview

We're looking for a talented Technical Artist to join our Slots & Casino team. This role sits between game design, art, and production. You'll help shape the visual direction of new games from the earliest brief stage through to signed-off mock-ups and production-ready handover. You'll be responsible for interpreting client requirements, understanding gameplay and player experience, and translating those into strong visual concepts, layouts, and mock-ups before full art production begins. Working closely with design, art, and production teams, you'll help solve early-stage visual and UX challenges, ensuring every game has a clear visual direction and a smooth path into production. Once concepts and mock-ups are approved, the final artwork and illustration will be handled by the senior art and illustration team. Your focus will be on shaping the early visual direction, layouts, and production-ready design foundations. Experience within gambling or games is strongly preferred.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the visual development of new slot and casino games from initial brief through to approved mock-ups.
  • Interpret client requirements and translate them into clear visual concepts and layouts.
  • Create presentation-ready mock-ups, interface layouts, and gameplay screens.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, developers, and production teams.
  • Ensure designs balance creativity, usability, technical requirements, and production efficiency.
  • Prepare and optimise assets for implementation across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.
  • Help establish visual direction, layout systems, and UX consistency across projects.
  • Support the handover from concept and mock-up stage into full art production by senior artists and illustrators.
  • Maintain organised file structures, naming conventions, and documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Commercial experience within games, iGaming, or digital media.
  • Strong understanding of layout, composition, visual hierarchy, and UX principles.
  • Ability to take creative briefs and develop them into polished visual mock-ups.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of production pipelines and technical limitations across multiple platforms.
  • UK-based and able to attend the studio on agreed hybrid working days.

Desirable / Nice to have

  • Experience working on slot or casino games.
  • Experience as a Technical Artist, UI Artist, Game Artist, or similar role.
  • Familiarity with animation tools (e.g. Spine 2D, After Effects).
  • Understanding of asset implementation pipelines and optimisation.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git, Perforce).
