Job Summary

In this role, you will set and operate CNC milling machines and Surface Grinders in the manufacture and repair of elastomer & plastic moulds, press‑tools and other tooling components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set & Operate CNC milling machines (3 & 4 axis)
  • Set & Operate CNC/NC surface grinders
  • Carry out in process Quality Inspections and rectify/escalate Quality issues
  • Comply with all corporate and local site Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures and regulations
  • Comply with all machine instructions and ensure proper use of equipment and assets
  • Comply with all process work instructions, control plans, maintenance and safety schedules
  • Read, understand & interpret Engineering drawings correctly
  • Act in accordance with the Company’s Code of Conduct and Guiding Principles

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience

Work Experience

No min required 0 - 2 years of relevant work experience required. Prior manufacturing experience in an industrial setting (pharmaceutical industry experience preferred) required. Experience with using SolidWorks and AutoCAD required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Experience in setting & operation of CNC equipment
  • Familiarity and experience in on‑machine programming
  • Familiarity and experience of use of measuring equipment
  • Familiarity and experience of interpreting Engineering drawings
  • Familiarity and experience of modern cutting tools and techniques
  • Experience and conversant PC user

Desirable:

  • Experience in Fanuc machine tool controls
  • Experience in multi-axis machine tools
  • Experience in elastomer mould, plastic mould and press‑tool manufacture
  • Experience in conventional toolroom machinery (mills, lathes, surface grinders)
  • Knowledge of other toolroom machinery (cylindrical grinders, EDM, WEDM)
  • Experience in automation processes & database managed machine tools
  • Experience of “Lean Manufacturing” techniques
  • Experienced in Offline programming & part verification

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
