Salary: £36K + 15% shift premium + annual bonus

Days: Monday to Friday (Mornings, nights and afternoons)

Job Summary

To support the Shift Supervisor in ensuring the Manufacturing Area is running efficiently and working to priorities. Will be responsible for Managing all operators assigned to their Cell.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The job holder is aware of all relevant procedures as per company policy that apply to the position covered by this job description
  • Manage the Cell against LDMS targets, understanding gaps to target and formulate action plan
  • Organisation of cell labour against production priorities
  • Performance and Line manage operators assigned to the Cell
  • Responsible for checking and signing off all operator down time
  • Responsible for ensuring hourly checks are undertaken in terms of output and quality, to be documented on the West Monitoring Network
  • Lead and drive yield & quality with interdepartmental assistance
  • Prepare and Lead Tier 1 Daily meeting
  • Understand the scheduling list to ensure the correct components are being produced throughout the manufacturing unit ensuring resources are in place to meet priorities
  • Undertake in-line evaluation of product, within the Finishing department for example IPC measuring checks
  • Ensure machine set ups and adjustments are undertaken as required by Engineering Technicians, within the Finishing department
  • Approve sign off after all Engineering intervention or Quality and Process changes
  • Liaise with relevant personnel to ensure any equipment faults or instances of poor quality are investigated and dealt with in a timely fashion using West Process investigation tools
  • Complete daily quality, 5’s and H&S gemba walkarounds
  • Cover for the Shift Supervisor in their absence, to include, Production data input (OEE, Daily Output Reports), lead daily LDMS meeting, attend weekly Operations meeting (when on shift).
  • Carry out Return to Work Interviews, Objective setting, 1-2-1’s, mid year and end of year reviews with support of the Shift Supervisor
  • Responsible for Approval of holiday allocation for direct reports
  • Ensure upward communication to Shift Supervisor in terms of any changes required in the T&A systems, such as Sickness, Lateness, OT, shift changes etc.
  • Carry out other duties where trained, as requested by the Production Supervisor or Production Manager

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience Qualifications / skills

  • Minimum 2 years experience of leading a team in a manufacturing environment
  • Competent in written and verbal use of the English language
  • Competent in basic numeracy
  • Good Computer skills
