Job Summary
In this role, you will set and operate CNC milling machines and Surface Grinders in the manufacture and repair of elastomer & plastic moulds, press-tools and other tooling components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set & Operate CNC milling machines (3 & 4 axis)
- Set & Operate CNC/NC surface grinders
- Carry out in process Quality Inspections and rectify/escalate Quality issues
- Comply with all corporate and local site Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures and regulations
- Comply with all machine instructions and ensure proper use of equipment and assets
- Comply with all process work instructions, control plans, maintenance and safety schedules
- Read, understand & interpret Engineering drawings correctly
- Act in accordance with the Company’s Code of Conduct and Guiding Principles
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience required
Work Experience
- No min required 0 - 2 years of relevant work experience required
- Prior manufacturing experience in an industrial setting (pharmaceutical industry experience preferred) required
- Experience with using SolidWorks and AutoCAD required
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in setting & operation of CNC equipment
- Familiarity and experience in on-machine programming
- Familiarity and experience of use of measuring equipment
- Familiarity and experience of interpreting Engineering drawings
- Familiarity and experience of modern cutting tools and techniques
- Experience and conversant PC user
Desirable
- Experience in Fanuc machine tool controls
- Experience in multi-axis machine tools
- Experience in elastomer mould, plastic mould and press-tool manufacture
- Experience in conventional toolroom machinery (mills, lathes, surface grinders)
- Knowledge of other toolroom machinery (cylindrical grinders, EDM, WEDM)
- Experience in automation processes & database managed machine tools
- Experience of “Lean Manufacturing” techniques
- Experienced in Offline programming & part verification
