About the role:

Are you a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for customer service and technical administration? We're looking for a Technical Support Officer to join our Building Control team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our technical and regulatory services. As a Technical Support Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for a range of internal and external customers, supporting them with building control applications, technical queries, and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures. You'll manage application validations, calculate charges, handle enquiries, and provide minor technical advice while maintaining a high level of customer service and efficiency. You'll also play a key part in promoting the Local Authority Building Control Service (LABC) and helping us deliver a seamless, customer-focused experience.

You will need:

  • Qualifications: GCSEs (Grades 9-4) including Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous administrative experience, ideally in a technical or regulatory environment, and confident use of IT systems (such as MS Office and ideally IDOX Uniform or similar).
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, and a proactive, collaborative attitude.
